– Dokuz Eylul University (DEU), Turkey

Görkem AKINCI [F]: Professor; Head of the team. She has been working in DEU since 1991 and also the Head of Solid Waste and Soil Contamination Lab (SoLAB) since 2001. Main expertise areas are waste management technologies, soil pollution remediation, catchment management, acidic mine drainage, waste and wastewater control on mining sites. Her main focus is fate and transfer of elements and compounds in environmental matrices. She worked in many projects about the contaminant transport and waste management and has many journal and conference papers on that issues, as well as a patent on composting.

Serpil ÖZMIHÇI [F]: Associate Professor; has worked as a researcher in Bioprocess Laboratory of Environmental Engineering Department, DEU since 1999. She has practiced on physical, chemical, physicochemical and biological characterization and treatment methods of different environmental matrices. She has many papers published in well-known SCI journals. She has worked as a researcher in the projects about mining sites in order to define soil-ore-water-plant relationships.

Elif Duyuşen GÜVEN [F]: Ph.D., Research Assistant; She has been the quality director of Solid Waste and Soil Contamination Lab (SoLAB) in DEU since 2009 and has participated many projects conducted on soil-plant interactions, soil metals and their fate, mining sites, etc. as a Post Doc. Researcher, since that date. Her major experiences are the sequential and/or single step extraction of solid material, chemical analysis of different environmental matrices, biochemical processes, and the catchment monitoring in the area of environmental engineering. She has many SCI journal articles and national publications.
