Dr. Nikolaos Tzortzakis (M) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Sciences of the CUT. N. Tzortzakis has extensive research experience on the issues of plant nutrition, hydroponics and substrate determination, climate change and abiotic stress, exploitation of plant wastes in greenhouse and field crops as well as postharvest sanitation means and fresh produce quality. He holds an International Patent No PCT/GB2004/003102 ‘’Apparatus and Method for the Ozone Preservation of Crops (19 July 2004)’’ Biofresh Ltd, Ridley Building, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 7RU, UK. Nikos is a MC Member for Cyprus in COST Action FA1106 and CA17133 related to Fresh produce quality/postharvest science and urban agriculture/hydroponics, respectively. Nikos is the Country representative for the EUVRIN (European Vegetables Research Institute Network). Currently, Nikos is actively involved (coordinator/partner) in EU and national projects (AGROLABS, PLANTSAFE, OPTIBIOCHAR, RE-LIVE WASTE). He has published 74 papers (h-index: 18) and presented his research in 124 scientific conferences in the Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Dr. Menelaos Stavrinides (M) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology & Food Science, at CUT. He acted as Scientific Coordinator of the Agro-Environmental Indicators Project for Cyprus, a set of metrics required by the EU to capture and monitor the effects of agriculture on the environment and climate. M. Stavrinides has extensive research experience on the assessment of the environmental impacts of agriculture, entomology-ecology, viticulture, climate change. He is actively involved in EU and national projects (GENOMITE, AgroLIFE, PlantSafe). He has published 21 papers (h-index: 9) and presented his research in 30 scientific conferences in the US and Europe.

Dr. Antonios Chrysargyris (M) is Postdoc researcher/Special Scientist at the Department of Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science (CUT). He has participated in several projects related to plant growth/nutrition and abiotic stress, viticulture, greenhouse crops, vegetables and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. He has 34 publications (h index: 8) and more than 58 conference presentations.

Dr. Litskas Vassilis (M) is Post doc researcher at the Department of Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science (CUT). He has participated in several projects related to the environmental impact of agriculture and the effects of climate change. He has 15 publications (h index: 9) and more than 10 conference presentations.

Mrs Panayiota Xylia (F) is research associate (PhD candidate) at the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science (CUT). She has gained work experience as a laboratory assistant in chemical and microbiological analyses of food, water. She is currently a part-time research associate at Cyprus University of Technology on AgroLabs and PlantSafe projects. She has 11 publications (h index: 3) and more than 16 conference presentations.
