Dra. Maria del Mar Alguacil (F) PhD in Agricultural engineer. Researcher with permanent staff since 2018 in the soil microbiology and symbiotic systems department, mycorrhiza group, at EEZ (CSIC) and is specialized on soil ecology, soil microbiology, plant-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi interaction, biological diversity and the drivers of ecosystem sustainability. Her research showed that mycorrhizal fungi play a key role in ecosystems by stimulating biological diversity, nutrient acquisition, plant productivity and soil structure. In recent years, her priority line of research is the application of molecular biology tools to study the plant-mycorrhiza interaction and the biodiversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. This work has been developed in various aspects as effects of the soil management and other anthropic actions on the structure of soil microbial communities, implications of the different plant life strategies on their symbiotic microflora and edaphic and environmental factors which influence the edaphic microflora biodiversity. Her current research interests include: (1) the impact of mycorrhizal fungi and soil biodiversity on plant productivity and ecosystem functioning, and (2) development of sustainable farming systems under a climate change scenario. She has participated in more than 30 projects (2 national projects as PI) and agreements with companies. She has published 49 scientific papers belonged to SCI, being 90% of them published in the first quartile (H index 27). She has also participated as author of 10 book chapters. She has been invited and participated in more than 45 of national and international congresses. (Researcher ID: M-3859-2014; Orcid code: 0000-0001-8495-8707; Scopus Author ID: 6601987093).

Dr. Jose Antonio Pascual (M) PhD in Biology, with a permanent position as Senior Researcher at CSIC since 2000; former CEO of the Biotech company Microgaia Biotech SL and actual CEO of Microhadir SL. His expertise is related to the relationship of microbial communities in soil and organic materials. To study this microbial community, different approaches have been utilized, looking for quick biomarkers such as biological and biochemical parameters. Nowadays, it has also applied molecular tools as NGS, qPCR and dPCR. Both as Senior Researcher and CEO of both companies, he has leader some important tractor projects related to the transference from the academia to the industry. He has been leader of Life+ projects such as AGROWASTE, POREM, SME instrument, such as VEGALERT, H2020, such as DIVERFARMING Eurostars projects such as MYCROPSUBSTRATE and EcoInnovation such as ALMOST. They demonstrate his leader capacity to detect research gaps and bring them into projects and final products. His scientific career is demonstrated by more than 80 international per review publications included in the Science Citation, being 90% of them published in the first quartile. It has also participated as editor and author of 30 books and book chapters. It has been invited and participated in more than 100 of national and international congress. (ResearcherID: I-9021-2012 ; Scopus Author ID: 7202676818 ; Orcid 0000-0001-7485-1092) Dra. Margarita Ros (F) PhD in Chemestry (2000), Researcher at CSIC-CEBAS, Since 2009. His research is based on the use of organic waste by aerobic digestion (composts) for its use as an organic amendment, and in bioremediation and possible suppressive activity in the soil; or as a growing substrate in seedbeds. Biological control of plant diseases through the use of microorganisms and study of the mechanisms used by different tools: chemical and biological parameters; gene expression; and application of the new fields of “omics” (metagenomics, metaproteomics and metabolomics). Detection and monitoring of microorganisms by molecular techniques such as qPCR, dPCR and Microarrays.

She has been the PI of 2 national projects, leader of CEBAS partner in one H2020 project and coordinator of 1 LIFE project. She has particiapted in more than 40 projects and agreements with companies. She published 48 scientific papers belong to SCI. (H index 20).
